On 11 August 2023, Mr. Firdaus Dahlan, the Director of the Centre for IMT-GT Subregional Cooperation (CIMT), received a courtesy visit from Prof. Dr. Ir. Lusmeilia Afriani, D.E.A., IPM., the esteemed Rector of University of Lampung, Indonesia (UNILA) at the CIMT office in Putrajaya. Joining the visit were Prof. Dr. Muhammad Firdaus, SP, MSi, the Education and Cultural Attache (Atdikbud) from the Indonesian Embassy in Kuala Lumpur, as well as Dr. Ayi Ahadiat, S.E., M.B.A. and Ir. Irza Sukmana, both from UNILA.

The gathering wasn’t just a courtesy visit but also aimed to deepen academic and cultural ties. The core of the discussion centered around how UNILA can enhance collaboration among universities within UNINET. Currently, UNILA and UiTM (Malaysia) have been engaging in technical discussion to prepare the MOU collaboration between the two Universities. The Rector also informed CIMT that UNILA will soon establish IMT-GT focal point at UNILA to optimize benefits from IMT-GT cooperation.

On top of the above mentioned, Director of CIMT also offered opportunities to UNILA to send its students / young researchers for internship or research activities relevant to IMT-GT areas of cooperation, which was also supported by Prof. Dr. Muhammad Firdaus from the Indonesia Embassy.
